In the shadows of times past, hidden behind ancient walls, lies the legend of "Die Funkenburg." This opulent album by Verhinderer transports the listener on a journey through the twisted labyrinth of a long-forgotten knight's castle, now inhabited solely by a lone lord and a host of restless spirits. The castle's former grandeur has long faded, but on one fateful night, an old prince from Thuringia sought refuge within its forsaken chambers, fleeing a raging storm.

Despite the castle lord's warnings of the restless ghosts prowling the halls, the prince remained unheeded. But at the stroke of midnight, the truth was chillingly unveiled. As every light was extinguished, the damned broke forth from the walls, instilling sheer terror in the prince's heart. Yet, after the storm of fear had passed, a grand table appeared in the hall's center, laden with sumptuous feasts, fine wines, and shimmering treasures. The spirits extended their hospitality, and the prince succumbed. But when fear gripped him once more, and he made the sign of the cross, the spirits vanished, leaving him drained. Come dawn, he awoke to find the table and its treasures remaining tangible.He acquired the ancient edifice from the castle lord and within its walls, he found peace and happiness until his final days.
